WAREHOUSE ASSOCIATE

Sol’s Jewelry and Loan is looking for a hard-working, reliable and punctual Warehouse Associate to join our team. This individual will be responsible for performing all warehouse functions as well as floor support duties within the store.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to organizational standards
  • Move merchandise between main store and warehouse
  • Maintain safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, storage areas and work stations swept, mopped and vacuumed
  • Organize warehouse and work area so they are safe and orderly at all times
  • Identify damaged, lost or missing merchandise and notify store management immediately
  • Treat merchandise with care and concern at all times
  • Stock items on the sales floor
  • Tag and label merchandise
  • Responsible for morning roll-out and evening retrieval of outside merchandise
  • Greet customers and improve customer engagement with merchandise by answering their questions and providing outstanding customer service
  • Actively seek out customers in store
  • Work closely with customers to assess their needs, provide assistance, and build a trust relationship that results in building a clientele base with repeat business
  • Remain knowledgeable about Sol’s products to offer information, demonstrate features, answer questions, and be able to recommend the right solutions to our customers
  • Continually grow expertise on products offered and appropriate pricing ranges for product coming in on loan and going out for sale
  • Cross sell products
  • Team up with co-workers to ensure proper customer service
  • Resolve customer complaints and ensure maximum client satisfaction
  • Handle returns of merchandise
  • Operate cash registers, process credit cards, and manage financial transactions
  • Follow and assist in achieving store’s sales goals on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis
  • Suggest ways to improve sales (e.g. planning marketing activities, changing the store’s layout)
  • Receive merchandise including unloading/unpacking it and marking it with codes to be identified
  • Keep the selling floor stocked with merchandise and arrange displays that keep the customers engaged
  • Comply with inventory control procedures
  • Maintain the store area ensuring cleanliness and organization
  • Assist with answering the phone in a timely, professional manner
  • Adheres to all Sol’s Jewelry and Loan safety policies and practices
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

  • High school degree or equivalent
  • Able to comfortably greet customers and make small talk
  • Must possess basic mechanical skills
  • Must possess a driver’s license
  • Ability to drive a vehicle while pulling a trailer
  • Basic handyman skills
  • Strong attention to detail skills with the ability to focus on detail, whether it is making sure a customer receives exact change or the product on display is laid out perfectly
  • A friendly and energetic personality with customer service focus
  • Familiarity with inventory procedures
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills to include proper phone etiquette
  • Entry level computer proficiency a plus
  • Basic math skills required
  • Proficiency in English required; bilingual preferred

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Sales floor or warehouse environment
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
  • Ability to walk up flights of stairs and/or work in confined spaces
  • Periodically works in outside weather conditions
  • Periodically works near moving mechanical parts and equipment*
  • Regularly lift and/or move objects 10-50 pounds occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 pounds
  • Availability to work flexible shifts that may include weekend, holiday or evening work as needed

*Sol’s Jewelry and Loan will provide training and personal protective equipment as necessary.
