Sales Associate (Bilingual)

SALES ASSOCIATE

 

Sol’s Jewelry and Loan is looking for a results-driven Sales Associate to be responsible for all sales job duties.  This individual will work as part of a team to meet department and store objectives while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service.

Be passionate about learning new things and wanting to become an expert at evaluating items.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Greet customers and improve customer engagement with merchandise by answering their questions and providing outstanding customer service
  • Actively seek out customers in store
  • Work closely with customers to assess their needs, provide assistance, and build a trust relationship that results in building a clientele base with repeat business
  • Remain knowledgeable about Sol’s products to offer information, demonstrate features, answer questions, and be able to recommend the right solutions to our customers
  • Continually grow expertise on products offered and appropriate pricing ranges for product coming in on loan and going out for sale
  • Cross sell products
  • Team up with co-workers to ensure proper customer service
  • Resolve customer complaints and ensure maximum client satisfaction
  • Handle returns of merchandise
  • Operate cash registers, process credit cards, and manage financial transactions
  • Follow and assist in achieving store’s sales goals on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis
  • Suggest ways to improve sales (e.g. planning marketing activities, changing the store’s layout)
  • Receive merchandise including unloading/unpacking it and marking it with codes to be identified
  • Keep the selling floor stocked with merchandise and arrange displays that keep the customers engaged
  • Comply with inventory control procedures
  • Maintain the store area ensuring cleanliness and organization
  • Assist with answering the phone in a timely, professional manner
  • Adheres to all Sol’s Jewelry and Loan safety policies and practices
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

 

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • High school degree; Associate degree in Business, Marketing, or related field would be a plus
  • Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices
  • Proven work experience as a Retail Sales associate, Sales representative or similar role preferred
  • Able to comfortably greet customers and make small talk

 

  • Knowledge of, and desire to continually learn about commonly pawned items such as tools, jewelry, firearms or electronics
  • Demonstrated selling skills including being able to effectively tell customers about the products
  • Able to identify what customers are looking for by listening carefully to what the customer is saying
  • Understanding of how trends in the market change quickly with ability to adapt to changes
  • Ability to perform under pressure and address complaints in a timely manner
  • Strong attention to detail skills with the ability to focus on detail, whether it is making sure a customer receives exact change or the product on display is laid out perfectly
  • A friendly and energetic personality with customer service focus
  • Proficient with running a credit card processing machine, cash register, and counting change
  • Familiarity with inventory procedures
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills to include proper phone etiquette
  • Entry level computer proficiency a plus 
  • Basic math skills required
  • Proficiency in English required; bilingual preferred

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Sales floor or warehouse environment
  • Ability to work standing for long periods of time
  • Ability to walk up flights of stairs and/or work in confined spaces
  • Periodically works in outside weather conditions
  • Periodically works near moving mechanical parts and equipment*
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Availability to work flexible shifts that may include weekend, holiday or evening work as needed

 

 

*Sol’s Jewelry and Loan will provide training and personal protective equipment as necessary.
